Welcome to HAMPSHIRE ARCHERY ASSOCIATION

arrows

Hampshire Archery Association is the home of archery in Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands in the UK. The Association is affiliated to SCAS (Southern Counties Archery Society) and Archery GB (GNAS) who are the governing body for the sport in the UK.

Archery is a sport for all ages and abilities and is great for families. There are over 50 archery clubs in Hampshire and most offer beginners courses. If you interested in trying archery get in touch with one of the clubs listed here.

SCAS has given permission for an inter-county indoor postal league to be run over the winter season of 2019/2020. The league will run from October 2019 to March 2020 inclusive.

Format will be much the same as for the trial league we ran from January to March 2019 with the league being divided into 5 different sections – Recurve (teams of 8), Compound (teams of 6), Longbow (teams of 5), Barebow (teams of 4) and Junior (mixed discipline teams of 8).

All teams must be of mixed gender. The junior team will be run on a handicap basis with Barebow and Longbow scores increased by 20% and Compound scores reduced by 10%. Full details can be found on the SCAS website.

Any archer who is affiliated to the Hampshire Archery Association is welcome to submit scores. Round will be a Portsmouth and should be shot between the 1st and the 21st of each month and submitted to HAA County Team Manager by email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) no later than 24th of each month. You may shoot as often as you wish and submit your highest score before the deadline.

During the trial league, I received much welcome assistance from Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Wight in collating and submitting scores each month. Also, one or two of the mainland clubs carried out this role. I am happy to accept score submissions from individuals but if clubs can find a willing volunteer to collate scores it would be much appreciated.

Submissions MUST include Name, Gender, Club, Date Shot, Score, Hits and Golds. If any of this information is missing or your scores are submitted after the deadline, you will not be included.

Results will be published monthly on the SCAS website. Also, on the HAA County Team Facebook Group and the HAA Website.

In the trial league, HAA won the Recurve, Compound and Junior sections. We would very much like to repeat this success in the official league 2019/2020!
