HAMPSHIRE versus SUSSEX 2023

The annual Inter-County match between Hampshire and Sussex was held at Waterside Archers on Sunday 30th April 2023.

Sussex were quite a few archers short of a full team, so on the day we matched the sides up like for like, even going so far as to allow 3 Sussex gents to compete against Hampshire ladies (the Ladies won)!

Overall once again, Hampshire were victorious, this time by a margin of 3535 with scores of Hampshire 23216 and Sussex 19681.

The individual scores are shown below with the archers in red not included in the total.

Two highlights from the match should be noted and celebrated!

First, Hampshire archer Craig May who broke no less than 3 County Records on his way to being top scoring Barebow archer on just his second appearance in a County Shirt. Huge congratulations!

And even more congratulations to the Hampshire Compound archers who extended their long unbeaten run. Last September, our Compound Team became UK National Champions and they have followed this up with first place in the SCAS Postal League, first place in the Kent 4 Way County Tournament and now victory today!
